Data Protection Policy

Congress Ltd. agrees to participants with a detailed Data Protection Policy on the registration website.

This statement and policy refers to the practices in relation to the conference website and the delivery of the conference (DSQT 2026), taking place in Budapest between 8-12 June 2026.

For the purpose of this statement, the following parties are included:

  • Conference Host (host): HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics
  • Professional Conference Organizer (organizer): Congress Ltd.

Privacy

Data gathered from participants at registration are strictly limited to those necessary to the participant database. The host and organizer do not provide these data to any third party, unless they are required for use by the organizer or the host. Data is handled in accordance with the legal regulations on data protection currently in force (Act CXII of 2011).

Types of data collected

Data requested from participants at registration: Name, address, country, employer, position, tax ID, telephone number, email address, banking data (if needed), photograph (if needed)

Legal basis for data collection

The organizer carries out its data collection activities– using appropriate internal regulations and technical and organizational procedures – in a manner that is fully compliant with the provisions of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL (of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, hereinafter: Regulation), and with Act CXII of 2011 on information self-determination and freedom of information.

Purpose of data collection

Identification, issuing invoices, fulfillment of contract, and/or provision of information connected with the event.

Regarding data which the participant is required to provide: these data are used to verify that a participant is authorized e.g. to download documents or to disseminate information of a public or personal nature.

Data is stored during the event solely for technical and statistical purposes.

The conference organizer does not use the personal data for any purpose apart from those enumerated herein. Data are provided to a third party only with the participant’s prior and informed consent, except in cases when data provision is required by law.

Provision of data to the host

Congress Ltd., as the contracted Professional Conference Organizer, is required to provide the data to HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics (the host).

Participants’ exercise of their rights pertaining to data

Participants may request information related to their personal data. Upon request, the organizer will provide the participant with information related to their data, and the purpose, legal basis, and storage period of the collected data, as well as the organizer’s name, address (headquarters) and activities related to the data, as well as information on who received or is receiving these data and for what purpose.

Rights of participants to legal redress, especially the right to appeal to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information  and the right to initiate legal proceedings.

Participants may exercise their rights and/or initiate legal proceedings in compliance with Act CXII of 2011 on information self-determination and freedom of information and with the Hungarian Civil Code, and may request the assistance of the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. In addition, the participant should consult the organizer with any questions or comments, using the contact information provided.
